  • Greg Allman wrote this song as a tribute to his brother and fellow band member Duane Allman, who was killed in a motorcycle crash in Oct 1971 in his hometown of Macon GA
  • In an interview given before his death, Duane Allman was asked what he was doing ‘for the revolution’ to which he replied  ‘There ain’t no revolution, only evolution, but every time I’m in Georgia I eat a peach for peace’. This was the inspiration for the title of the 1972 Allman Brothers Band LP Eat a Peach
